Well after the fun and games of putting together some predictions for the Championship season and the opening weekend of it, I thought it only right to have a brief look at the state of play going forward in League One and League Two. Lets start with League One.League OneLast year in this division was seemingly all about Brighton and them fulfilling a strange sort of destiny for themselves by making it into the Championship in time for their new stadium being opened, which of course they did. Southampton of course showed their pluck to return to the Championship too and Peterborough found themselves on the up too
Josh Naylor Jersey after some very competitive play-off fixtures. This season to me seems pretty tough to call, Huddersfield will clearly be smarting from a painful defeat in the play-off final to Peterborough and as such can be seen as a strong contender to go one better and perhaps snatch automatic promotion this term. Similar things could also be said for Bournemouth and the MK Dons whom faced similar play off heartbreak at the end of last season. Further still Sheffield Wednesday, Exeter and even Scunthorpe, whom have made a habit of bouncing between the Championship and League One in the past few years, will all have the sights sight on a high finish and perhaps dare i say a cheeky bid to snare automatic promotion. At the other end it really does seem too close to call at times, and could really boil down
Joe Musgrove Jersey to who has the best run of form at the right time. Having just been promoted Chesterfield, Bury, Stevenage and Wycombe will all be feeling some pre sure to stay in their new surroundings and will be keen to take points early. Walsall after narrowly mi sing out on the drop last time out will also be a side looking over their shoulders it would seem and times could yet also prove hard for Tranmere, Oldham and Yeovil.Predictions for the 2011/2012 Season:Champions: Sheffield WednesdayRunners-Up: HuddersfieldPlay-Offs: Exeter, MK Dons, Scunthorpe, RochdaleRelegation: Stevenage, Walsall, Hartlepool and TranmereLeague TwoNotoriously this is a tricky division to try and predict, and your position the
Adrian Morejon Jersey previous season doesnt really seem to matter too much it must be said. Last year Chesterfield, Bury, Wycombe and Stevenage all showed they had the mental strength as well as physical talent to make it out of League Two. So the question is, who will step up this time and show the same hunger?Port Vale could have a good season with Mickey Adams back at the helm and Plymouth could yet bounce straight back up after a difficult season both on and off the pitch last year. Fellow relegated sides Swindon, Bristol Rovers and Dagenham and Redbridge will also be keen to make good starts to their campaigns, but could yet find that League Two is a difficult league to be promoted from the season after relegation. Amongst the other contenders could be Crawley Town who seem to have momentum on their side after a phenomenal campaign last time around and perhaps will feed off that momentum
Franchy Cordero Jersey to pull of a Norwich City and be promoted 2 seasons on the trot.Down at the bottom it seems to be a debate as to whose luck will finally run out? Cheltenham Town and Hereford United both dropped off towards the end of the last campaign and had low finishes, begging the question will it get even worse for them this season. AFC Wimbledon as the other newly promoted team to the division look like they may be tested hard by one or two clubs with some veteran players but will most likely show enough to survive a tough first few months.Predictions for the 2011/2012 seasonChampions: Port ValeRunners Up: Crewe AlexandraPromoted: RotherhamPlay-Offs: Plymouth, Accrington Stanley, Crawley Town and Bristol RoversRelegated: Hereford and MorecambeThat just about wraps it up for this brief preview and set of predictions for Leagues One and Two, but i will
Cal Quantrill Jersey revisit sporadically to see how these predictions are fairing. Thanks for reading and please feel free to commentAndy
